Code Enforcement
Code Enforcement
The major function of code enforcement is to issue building permits and inspect new construction and improvements to all buildings located within the unincorporated area of Horry County. The building inspection branch of the Code Enforcement Department also manages the enforcement of the National Flood Insurance Program and performs fire inspections on commercial buildings located in the unincorporated areas.
Building Permits
Building permits are a type of authorization that must be granted by a government or other regulatory body before the construction of a new or existing building can legally occur.
