Parks
Horry County Parks and Recreation operates a variety of parks throughout the County. From its largest facilities, like Vereen Memorial Gardens, Socastee Recreation Park, and the Bike and Run Park, to its smallest facilities like Frink Park, Horry County Parks and Recreation has something to offer everyone. Parks are open from dawn til dusk, unless special events are occurring. The following map and table identify all County parks and recreation centers. Parks of Note
The Bike & Run Park also known as 'The Hulk,' is quickly becoming a park of regional significance, attracting both local users and vacationers. This facility is located along the Intracoastal Waterway near River Oaks Drive in Carolina Forest. It includes 7 miles of mountain biking and hiking trails on 70 acres of open space. the park was developed through the vision and labor of volunteers on a county-owned drege spoil basin that provides drastic changes in elevation that cannot be found in other parts of the county. In addition to providing a venue for a variety of races, its parking area serves as the first official East Coast Greenway trailhead in the State of South Carolina.
Vereen Memorial Historical Gardens is located along the Intracoastal Waterway in Little River on more than 115 acres of forest and marshland. This facility includes approximately 3 miles of nature trails and boardwalks that meander through its botanical gardens and along its waterfront. A small segment of the original Kings Highway, a colonial route between Boston and Charleston, still remains at the front of the property, behind the CB Berry Community Center.

Socastee Recreational Park is located on a 91.5 acre property off of Enterprise Road and serves residents living in the southern end of the county. The facility boasts numerous multi-purpose fields, an archery range, picnic areas, a disc-golf course, trails, and a playground.

Splinter City

Open Daily - Free To Play
Located at the corner of Farrow Parkway and Kings Highway, this 25 acre site is home to the Splinter City Disc Golf Course. The course is free to play and has two sets of tees, making it the perfect challenge for both new and experienced players. This park is a partnership between the City of Myrtle Beach and Horry County, with Horry County Parks and Recreation managing maintenance and operations.
