With the exception of a few minor punch list items, the U.S. Hwy. 701 North widening project is wrapping up in Loris.
This road improvement project headed by SCDOT increases both traffic flow and safety on the busy thoroughfare.
Both new and wider turn lanes were added to the highway from Dogwood Street to the S.C. Hwy. 9 interchange. The redesigned, wider lanes of the highway are making room for cyclists, while pedestrians can walk safely on newly installed sidewalks.
