The S.C. Department of Transportation (SCDOT) and N.C. Department of Transportation (NCDOT) will hold two public meetings for the proposed Carolina Bays Parkway (SC 31) Extension project.

The project, which is part of RIDE 3, would extend Carolina Bays Parkway (S.C. 31) from its current location at S.C. 9 in Horry County, across the North Carolina state line to U.S. 17 in Brunswick County, North Carolina, near Shallotte.

The proposed improvement is a multi-lane full access freeway partially on a new location. The primary purpose of the project is to improve transportation in the area by enhancing mobility and connectivity for traffic moving in and through the project area.

The community is invited to attend the following public meetings to learn more about this project:

-    Monday, September 29, 2025 from 5 - 8 p.m.
     Sea Trail Convention Center
     75-A Clubhouse Road

-    Tuesday, September 30, 2025 from 5 - 8 p.m.
