CONWAY, S.C. - As of 8 a.m. on September 28, 2025, Horry County has returned to OPCON 3 (Operating Condition Level 3), normal daily operations.

The forecast from the National Hurricane Center continues to show Tropical Depression Nine turning out to sea before reaching the South Carolina coast. The greater distance away from the coast indicates lesser impacts on Horry County as a whole.

Forecasts from the U.S. National Weather Service, Wilmington, N.C., office indicate that dangerous surf and marine conditions will be present for much of the week. Some heavy rainfall will still be possible, as well.

Horry County Emergency Management also encourages community members remain weather aware and take steps to ensure your households and neighborhoods are prepared through the rest of the hurricane season.

·    Know which hazards could impact your home or business the most

·    Have an emergency kit with nonperishable food and water on hand

·    Know Your Zone
