Horry County Government's Director of Finance Jamie Norman has been named one of the Government Finance Officers Association’s  (GFOA) Outstanding Public Service Professionals of the Year. She is one of only 50 to receive this national recognition, and the first and only honoree from South Carolina.

“Jamie steps up when it matters most, leads with heart and grit, and brings an unwavering commitment to public service,” said Assistant County Administrator of Administration Shannon Todd. “She puts her people first and keeps the County in line when it comes to dollars and cents.”

The GFOA recognition for Outstanding Public Service honors individual association members for their dedication to the profession, their colleagues, organizations, and their communities. The work of finance professionals is critical to the government’s ability to serve, yet often happens behind the scenes.
