Due to current weather conditions, Horry County Government will be initiating an outdoor burn ban, effective 6 a.m., Sunday, January 11, for the unincorporated areas of Horry County. This ban will remain in place until further notice.
The ban will be initiated due to the extreme fire danger as a result of the low relative humidity, dry and windy conditions. All outdoor burning, including permitted burns, is strictly prohibited during the ban, and those involved in any open burning would be in violation of the law.
