While contractors continue to make progress on a stormwater improvement project along Hemingway Chapel Road, the road closure between Rasberry Lane and Augustus Drive is being extended due to the recent winter weather.
Current detours are expected to remain in place until Friday, Feb. 20, 2026, but crews are working hard to open the road as soon as possible.
Until then, only local driveway access will be permitted for residents located beyond Rasberry Lane. Those who travel along Hemingway Chapel Road from Hwy 378 to Cates Bay Hwy regularly are asked to plan alternative routes.
Once completed later this month, the new infrastructure will mitigate flooding upstream of Hemingway Chapel Road and limit flood impacts to homes during major storm events.
