The Horry County Museum is celebrating America’s 250th with a new exhibit, “For the good of our Country and the welfare of our lives, liberties, and fortunes…” The Dynamics of Horry County During the American Revolution. This exhibit focuses on the area that became Horry County, once part of Georgetown District, during the American Revolution.

Throughout the gallery visitors will learn about Revolutionary War figures like Francis Marion and Peter Horry, the types of weapons and clothing used by Continental Soldiers and Militia Men, as well as local battles and places of interest during the War.

The public is invited to an exhibit opening on Saturday, April 11, 2026 at 2:30 p.m. at the Horry County Museum.

The Horry County Museum, located at 805 Main Street in Conway, is open Tuesday - Saturday from 9 a.m. -5 p.m. Admission is free.
