General Job Description

Under limited supervision, assist with the daily operation of four airports within the Horry County Department of Airport’s system. Responsibilities include airside and landside incident management, ground transportation management, conflict resolution, management of airfield and ramp operations, facility inspections, air carrier gate assignments and interaction with airport tenants, passengers and contractors. Work schedule includes days, evenings, weekends and holidays.

Duties for this Position
  • Reports directly to the Director of Operations and Airfields.
  • Assignment of air carrier-aircraft parking positions.
  • Perform duties as a member of the Airport’s Ground Transportation Management Team (Limousines, Taxicabs, Rideshare Companies, Shuttles, Buses, Rental Car Companies, Peer to Peer Operators and Parking Management Contractor).
  • Ensure compliance with FAR Part 139 and TSA/CFR 1542 regulations.
  • Assist Administrative staff with airline liaison duties and provide resolution to airline complaints and issues.
  • Assist with crowd management and customer service during peak periods.
  • Interact continuously with all tenants to rectify problems or issues that may impact operations.
  • Assist the Airport Communications Center staff as needed.
  • Perform limited escort duties.
  • Assist with coordination of airfield construction projects to ensure all regulatory, safety and operational requirements have been met.
  • Conduct daily inspections of all landside and airside areas.
  • Conduct daily Terminal inspections to ensure all facilities are clean and functioning properly.
  • Provide support during emergency incident response.
  • In addition to daily tasks, each Operations Supervisor is assigned specific management responsibilities, including but not limited to the following: o 1. Wildlife Coordinator 2. FAA Compliance Lead, 3. TSA Compliance Lead.
  • Represent MYR as the acting administrative representative in the absence of senior staff.
  • Any other duties assigned by the Director of Airports.
Position Minimum Requirements
  • BA or BS in Aviation Management, Business Management or related field, or, equivalent combination of education, training and experience. Experience in a civil or military aviation environment is desired along with CFR 1542 and FAR Part 139 experience.
  • Ability to acquire a South Carolina driver’s license at time of hire.
  • Must pass a pre-employment physical to include drug test.
  • Must pass a ten year criminal history background check.
