General Job Description

Under limited supervision the Airport Communications and Operations Administrative Assistant will assist the Airport Communications Center Team and the Airport Operations Team with the daily management and operation of Myrtle Beach Airport’s security badging program, its airline gate scheduling system and its ground transportation management program. This position will be responsible to continuously interact with the following individuals; airline management staff, commercial ground transportation operators, and contract parking lot management staff. This position reports to the Airport Communications Center Manager and the Airport Director of Operations.

Duties for this Position
  • • Excellent attention to detail. • Excellent written and verbal communications skills. • Assists with the issuance, training and compliance of airport badging. • Conducts security badge training classes. • Maintains applications that contain PII (Personal Information) and SSI (Sensitive Security Information). • Keep customers up to date on badge application status. • Schedule/process fingerprints for all applicants. • Maintain control of applicant’s CHRC for processing. • Process Security Threat Assessments for all badge applicants. • Have knowledge of Airport point-of-sale cash register system. • Process monthly taxi/shuttle payments. • Maintain inventory of badging supplies. • Prepare monthly airline gate schedules and assign aircraft parking positions utilizing aircraft gate scheduling software. • Manage ground transportation, including taxicabs, limousines, resort shuttles, buses, transportation network companies and peer-to-peer companies. • Manage daily gate assignments using flight-scheduling software • Coordinate with local airline representatives to resolve gate assignment conflicts. • Develop and lead monthly airline gate scheduling committee meetings. • Assist the Operations’ staff with development and updates of ground transportation agreements, and operating rules. • Address ground transportation grievances and resolve conflicts. • Liaison with the Airport’s parking management contractor to ensure customer parking areas are operated in accordance with Airport Administrative staff’s expectations. • Manage employee parking to include permit applications and allocation/issuance of permits. • Inspections of employee and customer parking areas to include interaction with commercial vehicle operators and parking contractor staff.
Position Minimum Requirements
  • • High School Diploma, or its equivalent. Bachelor’s degree or four years of experience in a similar position is desired along with experience in a commercial or military aviation operation’s environment. Ability to work in all weather conditions. Shift work to include weekends, Holidays and nights. Ability to work independently and make decisions under stressful conditions. Must be able to acquire a South Carolina driver’s license at time of hire. • Must pass a pre-employment physical and pass a ten (10) year criminal history fingerprint/background check. • High School Diploma, or its equivalent.
