General Job Description
The Horry County Legislative Delegation Office is for general use by the state elected officials and provides countywide constituent service. The office serves as a liaison between the public, governmental agencies, 16 elected state legislators who represent Horry County and 13 County Transportation Committee members who have the responsibility of expending millions of dollars derived from 3.99 cents per gallon of gasoline of the state user fee.
It is our constant goal to provide timely, accurate and friendly assistance to the residents of Horry County. We are a vital link between the public and the legislators and we strive to maintain a harmonious relationship with everyone that reaches out to our office.
- Duties for this Position

- Provides assistance to citizens who have problematic issues or need assistance in dealing with businesses, agencies, city and municipal governments
- Assists the members of the Horry County Legislative Delegation.
- Coordinates administrative functions and meetings of the Legislative Delegation
- Prepares and maintains permanent minutes/documents regarding Horry County Legislative Delegation public regular business meetings
- Prepares and maintains permanent minutes/documents regarding Horry County Legislative Delegation public special called meetings
- Notifies media/public of meeting dates, times and locations
- Coordinates the appointment of members to local and state boards/commissions
- Process Notary Public Applications for Horry County residents and answer questions regarding the duties of notary publics
- Coordinates and maintains permanent records of SC Parks, Recreation, and Tourism (PARD) Grants
- Coordinates the expenditures of funds from the SC Department of Natural Resources - County Water Recreational Fund for construction, improvement and maintenance of public boat ramps in Horry County
- Coordinates the expenditures of funds from the SC Department of Natural Resources - County Game & Fish Fund for equipment used by wildlife officers in Horry County
- Coordinates inventory functions between public & members of the delegation
- Assists the members of the Horry County Transportation Committee
- Coordinates administrative functions and meetings of the County Transportation Committee
- Provides public information on the status of CTC funded road projects in Horry County
- Prepares and maintains permanent minutes/documents regarding CTC public regular business meetings
- Prepares and maintains permanent minutes/documents regarding CTC public special called meetings
- Position Minimum Requirements

- Bachelor’s degree in a related field and three years of experience, or any equivalent combination of education and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
- Must have or obtain Notary Public status prior to beginning the position or within three months of assuming the position.
- Must be able to pass the required pre-employment physical and background check.
