New Property Tax Estimator Available
|
|
Horry County has launched a new tool to help property owners estimate what their real property tax bill may look like this fall, after this year’s state-required reassessment.
Approximately 88% of all real property in unincorporated Horry County will see a tax increase of $200 or less – most will be a $40-50 increase. (Note: This is in county millage only.)
More information about reassessment can be found here: https://www.horrycountysc.gov/news/48319
The tax estimator can be found here: https://www.horrycountysc.gov/dep.../assessor/tax-estimator/
It’s important to note that this is just an estimate of what the tax bill for the property would look like this year. The data is provided “as-is”. A full legal disclaimer can be found alongside the estimator tool.
To use the estimator, you will need to know your property’s PIN number and the taxable value. Both of these items can be found through the Horry County Land Records website or your property’s assessment notice.
The estimator will use the information entered to show an estimate of what your property tax bill in the fall may look like at the 4% ‘legal residence’ and 6% ‘non-legal residence or commercial’ ratios.
The breakdown includes county, school and other millage such as special districts, fire, waste management, and watershed fees, where applicable. The estimator will include the municipality millage for properties where appropriate.
