Ongoing Road Closures & Detours: University Plaza Drive
Work continues and University Plaza Drive remains closed from Waccamaw Medical Park Drive to East Highway 501. This closure is expected to remain through December 31, 2022.
Waccamaw Medical Park Drive will have periodic daytime lane closures during this time. Please see the map below:
Ongoing Road Closures & Detours: Postal Way Extension
Weather permitting, intermittent road closures and detours are expected to continue at the intersection of Renee Drive and Carolina Commercial Drive.
These closures will allow crews to install the required drainage structures and realign the intersection. We urge drivers in the area to slow down, pay attention to all road signs, and drive cautiously to keep our crews safe.
These closures will continue through the remainder of the Postal Way Extension road construction project beginning at 9 p.m. and reopening at 6 a.m., weather permitting. The project is a part of the RIDE III Program US Highway 501 Corridor Improvements. The project includes the extension of Postal Way easterly to Waccamaw Pines Drive with the installation of intersection improvements and sidewalks
Traffic Pattern Update: Renee Drive & Carolina Commercial Drive
Beginning Thursday, Nov. 10, 2022, the intersection of Renee Drive and Carolina Commercial Drive has been updated to a three-way stop.
We urge drivers in the area to slow down, pay attention to all road signs, and drive cautiously through the updated traffic pattern
